Driving license, please advise - sick with worry :(

That's interesting, on the paperwork they sent me they didn't mention that they accepted passports. How would they know that was the 'old' you? I thought you had to have something that showed your old and your new name? Glad you managed to use that though! xx

The form lists the acceptable documents and passport isn't on there

I know that back in 2008 they were charging £17.50, because I read it on another thread, but not sure when they started charging?

The £1000 fine is there for a reason, it is threatening to see, but encourages you to keep up to date.

It's not mandatory to change your name when you marry, as far as the DVLA are concerned perhaps you decided to keep your maiden name, and then changed your mind. They're not to know, and frankly will probably not care.

oh, maybe things have changed since I got married, but I think you shouldn't have reason to worry. There are people out there doing a lot worse than being a few weeks late renewing their license. Be honest and I think you'll be ok, like everyone else is saying. Good luck

Also it's not law that you have to change your name when you get married is it? You may have just decided to use your husband's name now.....
