....Also if you have a student loan you want to include it isn’t guaranteed that it can be included, it is decided by the SLC and if they decide they are getting a better deal already they won’t be included in the IVA, however the IVA will still go ahead minus the student loan balance and you will continue to pay the student loan as normal.....

I forgot... the total debt they calculated was around £11,500, excluding the student loan (which to my knowledge is being paid back by my employer). This makes life just a tiny bit more bearable.0 -

Not as far as i know, I'm pretty sure it has been this way since IVA's were first introduced or not long after.
All I know is that’s the way it is and has been for some time
Sometimes the SLC will accept an IVA offer, sometimes they won't there are no hard and fast rules with the SCL it's all done on a case by case basis.

I was told by Payplan all Student Loans have to be included in an IVA. I specifically wanted not to include mine as it would have given me a higher % and increase my chances of acceptance.
When the SLC didnt vote I was told they were binded in the same way as every other creditor. They've now stopped taking their payments from my income.Debt as at 12th July 2006 - £61,345

I don't make the rules James23_uk that's just the way things are,
if your not happy with this information I suggest you contact the insolvency service and they will confirm that your student loan could have been left out.
I do not know why Payplan would have told you otherwise
Each case is assessed differently, this must have been the best way forward for you.
