Lets Start an Asian Wedding Chat Thread

Just thought id start an asian wedding chat thread where we can discuss ideas, themes and other money saving ideas!!

Im going for the traditional red and gold theme for my wedding but for the mehndi doing pink purple and lime green. The mehndi venue is gorg but they dont supply table linen. Anyone have any ideas where i can hire these cheap or is it cheaper to get disposable ones?

right, i am not having a traditional asian wedding as my h2b is english so we are going for fusion.

disposable is prob cheaper than hiring.. look in catering catalogues.

wedding cards are cheaper to get from india. i found a site that were very good for my favours but my daddy ended up having a friend go india and bought them out there for a fraction of what i would have paid. (it was £50 for 100 favours + £25 p&p - my daddy got the 100 for £30 and his mate brought them over) but even then, it was the cheapest i found.

indian wedding card .com (trying to avoid spamming from any company by writing it that way but not sure how their alerts work. )

paper quality may not be best though so make sure you get samples first.

where are you based? i am in central london. my sis had red gold and ivory. my colours are chocolate fuchsia and gold. worked well with the fusion for us. think my sis got her outfit in southall. i am having english dress but my h2b got his sherwani in wembley.

I am doing my mendhi at home although might not start til late as i have so much running around to do the day before due to friends who are coming a long way to help me and venues being across town. :(

if i think of anything else, i wil let you know.. :)

The favours are amazing on that site, so different to chocs or sugared almonds. Went to Mongas in Southall yesterday and they had their wedding lehngas massivly reduced some were 2k and now £600. Im gonna go again on the weekend with my sisters. Might be worth you having a look if u havent already bought yours. They had so many colours. They also had a lot of white fusion dresses too.
