Got bank charges back

Thought i'd missed the boat with the reclaiming bank charges thingy but ive just got a letter through the post this am from hsbc offering me 315 quid back its only 70 less than i asked for so i am going to grab it while i can, they refused me anything in the first letter then i sent them a LBA (letter before action) and hey presto they deliver! Still waiting from news from the OH's bank as he's trying to claim 1700 (of which he's promised me 10% for sorting it all out for him) trying to add smilies but they dont seem to work but i personaly am beaming from ear to ear!!

Yep it does happen, but I wouldn't encourage everyone to take a proportion of your request as they are legally entitled to pay it all and if they still dispute it and you have to file a claim not only do they pay that back but the cost of the claim and 8% interest. My missus has just sent LBA to nationwide for £1800 and I am halfway through claim with Abbey for £4500 and have no intention of negotiatinmg on either and if they both go to claim 8% is quite a nice bit extra.

Still like you say a payback to a fellow DFW is great news.
