:o

I live in South Down.....Downpatrick area, There used to be a fabric shop called curtains and covers..but its now gone.

I need some fabric...but with all the shorties off school atm its proving difficult....I have been ordering off ebay and shops in england, but its waiting on the stuff arriving...(not to mention some fabric doesnt exactly look as good in real life)

Taking 4 kids shopping in the likes of the spinning wheel in belfast is frankly frightening (as im not so sure of belfast city centre) And atm getting a sitter is almost impossible as my mum is sick!!

local areas would include....newcastle, ballynahinch, castlewellan, downpatrick, saintfield, does anyone have any ideas (other that to wait:rotfl:)

If you can make it up as far as the Ormeau road or the Holywood road, neither of which are city centre, there are 2 shops called The Paragon Stores which would fit the bill. One is on Donegall Pass and there is on-street parking there if you're lucky, the other is on the Holywood road itself nearly opposite S&R Electric

    Hi,

Maybe a bit far to travel, but the Skip in Newtownards is a fabric shop. We went there to look for curtains etc recently.

In Castlewellan on the main street "sew what"
in Newcastle beside Lidl "Blenheim factory shop"
in Ballynahinch on main/church street "Rhona Stewart"

The spinning wheel also have a shop at the Abbeycentre (not in the centre itself but in the shops and stores around it)
Dunelm mill also do ready made curtains and fabric (Shane retail park on the boucher road)

Blenheim is not the wool shop but you are not far away.

On the right hand side of the entrance to the lidl carpark is lidl and the wool shop on the left hand side is among other shops Blenheim.

Is Newry too far away? There is Cotton Prints Direct on the outskirts of Newry towards Bessbrook and which is easy to find. It's at Loughbrook Industrial Estate, 111 Camlough Road, Bessbrook, NEWRY, County Down, BT35 7EE.

You can park right outside and you don't have to drag your children through a big shopping centre to get to it.
  • Try the Cotton Print Factory Shop in Duncrue (just google Cotton Print Factory Shop Belfast for directions). It is a little bit further out and you will have to go on the motorway for a bit, but they have a children's play area so would be worth the extra journey!

Why not take them to Ikea? They do quite a bit of fabric down in their cushion etc. section on the ground floor and you can get it by the metre.
Also child friendly, they can be parked in the play area while you shop!
    Cheers,

Dunelm mill is by far the best for choice and if you have to take kids. There is a lift that takes you upstairs if you have a pram or trolley, and the aisles are very wide, the fabric is lovely. Some is a little overpriced but you normally get some good fabrics on offer or reasonably cheap.

Dunelm mill is in shane retail park on boucher road, just opposite charles hurst cars
