Rising postage costs! The amount they send out they will get a significant discount on the aforementioned postage costs so I doubt the rise is particularly bad. It's not just postage costs where they must be making savings it must be printing costs and packing costs as well. Did it say in the t&c's when you subscribed that you wouldn't be getting the freebies? If it doesn't mention this you are entitled to take them to task.

I subscribe to good food magazine and I always get all the freebies (sometimes I whinge about all the freebies) and because I'm a subscriber there are special pages that aren't in the normal issue.

Perhaps we should highlight all the mags that are tight with their free gifts when you subscribe and then someone could type a proforma letter of protest that we could all print and send off...what a rip off! :mad:

I don't think any newagents, Tesco or Sainburys in our town has the book.

i'm currently on a 3 issues for £1 subscription for She and didn't get the book. i just figured they were being tight due to me being on a cheap deal - but i definately won't be carrying on the sub if you never get the free gifts!

i'm on the same cheap deal at the moment also with good food mag and received the dvd this month. excellent!

Our local Merretts (Gloucester) had plenty in stock. Mag's just £2.25 and it says on the front that the book's worth £8.99, so that's an even better bargain!

Oh, not sure that I'd stick it in my Christmas pressie box though – it's got PROMOTIONAL COPY ONLY emblazoned on the back!

I bought this mag in Liverpool Airport on sunday (17/9) it had the book - its fab - already tried some of the recipies - his recipes are very simple and easy ..and superb !!
