Tents at ASDA (merged)

Earlier this morning Asda at Lancaster had some 3 man tents reduced to £9.99. Not sure if it is a single skin or not as the packaging isn't clear but it would be fine for festival use, especially if you don't want to bring it home as many people seem to do. It's an "Ozark Trail" brand, weighs 3.6kg and has a small porch area at the front. It is very similar to one which I bought at Aldi earlier this year for £24.99 and used (successfully) at Leeds festival.
Asda also had a huge pile of LARGE instant barbecues reduced to £1.11 (Half price).
Ian.

  • Asda birchwood also has these tents and 2 man tents for less than a fiver. Also folding chairs them ones that are in a bag. Junior and adults both less than £3
  • Did they have any "two women & a man" tents?

Not sure I want to buy a three man tent.

Asda have 2-man tents for £4!
Apparently some people don't bother taking them down when they have finished their trip - they just leave them behind! I'm sure MSEers will not be so irresponsible!
My views are irrelevant - censorship is alive & well!
  • I have the 2 person Asda tent. Bought it for £7.99 down from £9.99, but they're £4.99 now! i've seen the same ones in camping shops for around £30, they're great for festivals and weekends in campsites where if the weather takes a turn for the worse you can sit in the car or go home, but they're not much use for longer term or more remote camping as the seams are not sealed and the mesh ventilation near the top will let in a lot of rain if it's going sidways with lots of wind! Other than that, nice and easy to put up and take down, and very cheap!
  • I have one of the 2 man tents (cost me £5 i think) but it is only single skin so any moisture seeps through on contact... woke up with very wet messy hair that morning!
