Van Driver / Courier Business

I am currently looking into the possibility if starting up my own Van Driving / Courier Business. I have priced a van, insurance, mileage, advertising materials etc. We currenlty have a home office from which my dad works and he is willing to let me use computer, fax, photocopier, printer etc. until i get established!!
I was wondering if anyone has any experience in this market and if they could give me any idea on what to look out for or even any unexpected expenses.
I am from Northern Ireland and have already a few family friends with companies willing to use my service!!
Thanks in advance
