Paying A Loan Off
I've come into some money and now want to pay off my First Direct loan. The money is in my Barclays account so I said I could pay it now. Easy I thought? Not so though. After they gave me a settlement figure I was told that I had to put the money into my FD account before it could be paid. I can do this but why wont they accept a payment by card like others do? They also said it would take 3-5 days to process the payment. I assumed they'd be snapping my hand off for the money back! Is this common practice for all banks or just peculiar to FD?

Meh, it's only a few days - just do it their way.
Pay the loan off, stress less, live more.
