My friend and I are looking at setting up a new party plan business.
She makes the most wonderful jewelery, hand made glass beads.
Has anyone got any helpful tips or ideas when setting up?

  • Have edited post, I didnt mean to break the rules, I would just like helpful tips on how to set up this sort of business.
  • Hi
I run Hebe Organics, which operates in a mode similar to party plan. What you need to do is to look at the Direct Selling Association web site to get an understanding about the kind of legislation etc. that is in place for MLM type organisations.

I am currently expanding from Northern Ireland into Great Britain and am recruiting area managers who can earn up to 40% which depending on your profit margins you should consider. I have structured my operation on a single level as I feel a lot of people do not like the idea of MLM. I think you need to be careful how you structure your marketing plan. If you set up a multi level commission structure you will find it difficult to keep track of. Best to start with a simple approach.

One good idea is to join a party plan firm that has complimentary products. In this way you get the infrastructure and an opportunity to sell a wider range of products and hopefully earn more commission. You will also need a web site.
    Hope this helps,
    Gerry
