Cross cut shredder - £14.97 in Tesco

Just bought a shredder at Morrisons (mains power - up to 5 sheets and includes bin) which was originally reduced to £9.99 but now lowered even further to £8.99.

Works fine though mains lead is only 1.15m long.

This was bought at the Banbury branch (plenty left) - no idea if available nationwide.

It aint a bad shredder I have had one for about 9 months. Its been £8.99 for months now though.

Is it strip or cross cut shredding?

A lot of places have been trying to shift the older strip cutting models as they are not exactly useful if people put the strips back together.

Its a strip cutter made by Detroit.

I make sure that when I use it I do quite a few strips (and mix them about) ready for recycling it would take ages to figure out to out all of them together.

Cant say for your local branch but in LEICESTER its the cross shredder from £29.99 to £14.99 to £9.99 to£8.99.........thats a bargain!!!???

After Shilcor's stunning tip off about the laminator, I went to my local Tesco to find that they had a cross cut shredder for £14.97 sat next to it. Not bad given that all the other ones I'd seen were nigh on double that.

There were a couple of other options there if cross-cut's not what you're after - the Tesco Value shredder for £8 (It's like a shredder without the bin part - Bring Your Own Bin ) or a reduced price Strip Cut Shredder for £11.97 for those of you who don't suffer from extreme paranoia like me

I didn't think to mention the shredder as I was too excited about finding the laminator! I picked up a cross cut shredder around Christmas for 9.99 at Staples but they have put the price up again. Had a strip shredder before and cross cut is far better as the bin doesn't need emptying as frequently.

I used some at work..

Pop the strips on a scanner. I used an a3 scanner, all mixed up at angles, flat but overlapping and not sorted.

Then put some stick transpartent plastic on the back.

Scan flip rescan

Run the software. 20s later you have an almost perfect orignal.

This was 6 years ago! Who knows what people have now!

I think the cross cutter's space saving helps as I can get more in the recylcing sack!
