Dishwasher Repair Belfast

Hi there
My dishwasher started leaking water last night - might just be the seal or something - can anyone recommend a good reasonable repair man?
Thanks
Joseph

Have a good hoke about yourself Joseph, you just might find the leak and be able to repair it yourself. It might be something simple like the drain hole needing emptied.

...My last one wouldn't empty the water, I took it outside and tilted it on its side and it worked for a few months after that. Eventually it packed up and it turned out to be a circuit board problem.

My washing machine was leaking a bit. I couldn't afford to replace it so I pulled it into the middle of the floor and used it for several months with towels all around it to absorb the leaks. One day I pulled the detergent drawer out and cleaned it and when I was putting it back noticed that the bit it slotted into was all gungy from old washing powder. I scraped that off with my hand before putting the clean drawer back in. It hasn't leaked since. Sometimes these things can be so easy it's :o.

In having said that I had an old dishwasher which I inherited when I bought my current house. The area around the door was very dirty and I scrubbed it clean one evening a few months after moving in having used it regularly, including the bit just below the door where the seal is. I must have dislodged a bit of worn seal that had been held together by the dirt as it spouted a frightening leak the next time I used it and I had to get a new one tout de suite!

Thanks for all advice. It's an integrated dishwasher into a brand new kitchen that cost a fortune so I can't take it out - that's why I want someone who knows what they are on about but reasonable! Where the dishwasher is located there isn't much room to hoke about as well!!

Bosch (make of dishwasher)are 85 quid + vat before parts.. its a 3 yr old dishwasher so I'm hoping it's something simple..... but I'll give it a run tonight and report back!

Both my dishwasher and washing machine are Bosch......The guy i recommended earlier, fixed both machines for me.......the WM the brushes went in the motor and it was a job and a half getting it out....he was here for an hour and a half, it cost £40 for parts and time including vat!!

Whoops, the reason it took so long was that he had a job and a half getting to it :-)....and getting it out!!

Our washing machine won't drain either, it's also seems to be unbranded in the instruction manual only using the code DW009. It may be the drain pump but there is limited instructions on cleaning this plus the dishwasher is integrated. The pipes connected to it don't seem to be kinked. Is there a cheap repair around Belfast area if we need one?
  • Hi all,

I would be interested to know if there are any cheap repair guys around Belfast who could replace a drain pump in a De Dietrich integrated diswasher model V2996U1/1. I can provide the part.

    Cheers
