Wisdom teeth can hurt fro a number of reasons.
The best way to ease the pain will vary depending on the reason the tooth is hurting.
DO NOT USE CLOVE OIL. It has very very limited dental use, and can harm more cases than it solves. Wisdom tooth pain is not one that clove oil can help.
Go and see your dentist to find out the best way to deal with it.
(Ice cream isn't a usual therapy either, but it's probably more use than clove oil!!!
) How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
i tried to book an appointment ( this comes from the girl who has panic attacks at the denist) and the soonest one is the 3rd of August.
and i'm being naughty i have anocilian that expires this month so took two last night and the pain has almost gone this morning.0 -
Would you rub painkillers on your head if you had a headache? Don't do the crumbling painkillers up thing, I had a patient who tried this and now we have fixed the problem he had that was giving him toothache, we are really struggling with an enormous dead patch of gum from him rubbing aspirin on there.0

Well that's a waste of antibiotic then.
If it was an infection then antibiotics take in the order of 24 hrs to start working. The fact it's better this morning is nothing to do with the antibiotic.
Now you have a dilemma. If you stop taking them, all you have in your system are some bugs which will have a bit of immunity to it - which will be great next time you really need it. If you carry on taking it then you'll risk such side effects as tummy upsets and thrush and it's all for nothing!
Ringing NHS direct for advice would have been a more sensible thing to do.How to find a dentist.

I missed the 'rubbing on painkillers' bit.
That really is a very silly thing to do!
All we need now is for someone to suggest holding something warm against it, and we have a 'full house' of stupid advice! How to find a dentist.
