Undischarged bankrupt-Ipa/ sudden expense advice please?

Hi all,
We both went Br last November, and my partner has to pay an IPA each month.

We have been managing okay, but our fridge freezer has suddenly started going wrong.. it won't last the month I think, it's ruining food, and we cannot afford to replace it.I looked at the price of cheapest we could find ones, refurbished one etc, and even then we'd need about £200.. am I right that if you email/contact your reciever ( who is actually very friendly :) ) that they can change an IPA for one month if you have a sudden expenditure that is unavoidable, so you can afford it? If so, how does it work.. do we need to send her reciepts etc??

It was suggested that we 'use the plastic'.. Lol..by someone who doesn't know, and can't understand why we don't just use a CC.. no can do.. !!

Any ideas please?

Thank you!!

You can put a wanted ad on freegle/freecycle. Have a look in your local paper and buy a cheap second hand one.

I have seen on the boards where people have asked to miss a payment and they have been able to, though some haven't.

what part of the uk are you?
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

    Surrey.

i've scoured the papres, the local gumtree ads etc, and ebay, so will just have to keep my eyes peeled. at least it's working.. and we have warning to replace it rather than it just stopping suddenly!!

All of the above are excellent responses but if none of these work, then just phone, write or email your OR to explain the situation. Generally, they are very understanding and will come to some sort of arrangement with you.
