    Whilst I agree with the sentiment, the chances of being charged for fraud in reality are probably less than 0.1%

    The police would not be interested and the lenders know this, which is why it would not be reported.

    The more likely outcome is a CIFAS fraud marker being placed on the credit file, which would effectively close the door to further borrowing in the foreseeable future.
