debt from accident - very angry!

I am still of work from a car accident (3rd parties fault) in April. I feel the system and my solicitor are a joke. I have been waiting over two months for an interim payment and am getting more and more in debt. My solicitors advice..... can i get money from friends and family (NO!) or apply for another credit card. I don't even know if I'll get another one. I can't believe the advice. Sorry I just needed to rant. I am so angry that I am in this situation and it is not my fault.
Hmmm will add up debt and stick on on later!

Whilst you may not get an interim payment, you should get back every day you have been off work, and then any costs incurred due to loss of income like interest accured on debt repayments.

The idea of taking out further borrowing is not good advice from your solicistor. You best bet is to write letters to all creditors and tell them you are off work due to a car accident. You will be claiming full costs however in the meantime can you please freeze interest and charges. Once the claim is settled you will pay all the due arrears in full.

have you been to the job centre, can they put you on ESA or give crisis (interest free loans).

I'm a passionate biker (when health allows) and there are a couple of top-flight bike solicitors firms who can take over cases like yours where there's been an accident and you just go with the appointed solicitor. A lot of people aren't happy with the appointed solicitor and a biker can almost always change to a good one without any bother (which very few people know till it happens)... But then I only know about bikes, I don't know anything about cars and so it might be worth posting about this on the motoring board if changing solicitor for one with a special interest in motoring law might interest you. Reports from the bikers I know are that they wouldn't now ever go with the appointed solicitor again!
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(

thanks guys, I can't get any benefits as I recevied a letter from DWP stating that. I hadn't thought of writing to my mortgage provider, maybe I will give that a go. As for changing solicitors I may consider it further down the line but it's so complicated at the moment as I have disagreed with the medical report etc. :)
