can the relative throw anything into the pot?

Not really, she is now unable to work due to the disability, can't even bend down, kneel, clean the house on her own, stand for any length of time or leave the house without someone with her. Although the disability people state she can do all I have mentioned. Even after their medical evaluation, everything she said was turned on its head to say she was capable. Its all a bit farsical just now. Money has been stopped due to this, so her income has dropped considerably.
As I said earlier, I will try selling things on ebay and I think I will be able to get extra work from babysitting, which I do every so often for friends and other aquantinces.

Kat you have one of three options:
1 is to reduce your expenditure, and that seems something you don't want to do.
2 is to increase your income, this seems the most acceptable option to you, after all you have indicated that you will at least look in to it.
3: Is to continue as you are, which I don't see as a long term solution if you truly want to be free from your debts.

Which ever course of action you take, you have my best wishes and I hope you manage to figure out where to go from here.

I DO want to sort out my expenditures that is why I am going to write down everything in the next few weeks to see where I can cut back.
Having had another look at my own SOA, If I include my TV package in my entertainment I can at least cut down by another £35 or so. As I previously stated I do not go out very much, I just have the money there incase something crops up like a night out, BUT it doesn't seem to last each month.
Compared to other SOA's on here for single people I think I could cut down on groceries? I will give it a try.

If I can manage this I will hopefully be able to throw some extra money at the CC each month. I will look into trying to get another CC but as I said before I don't know if this will be possible.

I may also have the opportunity of overtime and a possible weekend job so if these come into effect it shouldn't be long until everything is paid off :D
  • Do you take a packed lunch to work or do you buy lunch? Packed lunches will save quite a bit and try to avoid the temptation of coffee whilst out shopping. When you go to the cinema, do you take your own drink/refreshments or do you buy them at the cinema?

Where do you do your grocery shopping? Do you have Aldi or Lidl nearby? You will find them considerably cheaper. Do you have a freezer that you could make use of for reduced items in the supermarket?

Any chance you could get a little petrol money for the child you drop off to school on your way to work?

    Hi
I take a packed lunch most days to work. I buy treats like chocolate, crisps and pop in multipacks once a month during my shopping trip, when they're gone they're gone!! I use these for my cinema trips as well, I refuse to pay cinema prices for snacks.
I do my shopping at Aldi, Tesco or Morrisons as they are all near by or on my route to work.
I have a small freezer and I try and batch cook things as I am also doing Weightwatchers (I don't pay as I help at the meeting)
I don't normally buy reduced items will have a look next time I am in picking up milk.
I get £15 a month towards petrol I have included that in my salary as its not much to add as other income.

Hopefully if I get this second job I will be able to add this on my SOA another time :)
  • I would suggest using Aldi as much as humanly possible in preference to Tesco and Morrisons as loads cheaper, although they don't tend to have many reduced items. Base your meals around the veg etc that is on offer.

Having been an avid Tesco shopper (until about 2 years ago) I rarely step foot in their now as it is so expensive. I also use Aldi lipstick now in preference to my ususal Clinique ones (£1.99 as opposed to £14.00) and can't actually tell any difference (although Aldi one has better staying power!)
  • I find Lidl are really good too, i have even changed from Persil Non Bio to their Formil Non Bio washing powder which is a 1/3 of the price of persil and has just won an award with Good Housekeeping i have used this for a while now and my clothes are as clean if not cleaner and smell nicer too.

Just thought i would share as this is a quite an expense on a monthly shopping bill.
