Made a sandwich for lunch and unfortunately had to eat it as 2nd breakfast.
So today I was working in Kensington and when work colleagues went into a trendy cafe for lunch, I thought I'll just get something small....
The "small salad" was a selection of 3 salads, and came on a side plate. It didn't seem to be advertised anywhere but the take-away version was £3, the side salad £2.50 and so it seemed by far the cheapest thing in the place.
And yes, it was infact £6.50:eek:
Had a tea too so the grand total was £8
I thought you guys might appreciate how angry this made me!!!!

they can't even provide a decent portion- did they give you bread on table?
--nope, no bread.
cup or pot of tea- if pot of tea not bad because you get 2 cups out of a pot
--actually the tea was great, and yes got 2 cups out of a pot. £1.50 is probably what I would expect from a posh cafe, so that doesn't annoy me so much.
understandable- a complete and utter rip off- irrespective of how trendy the place was. couldn't have you suggested you go somewhere else?
With these colleagues I go for lunch once in a while, but it's nearly always in the east end, so I have maybe a 50p tea and sneak in my sandwich, or beans on toast.
£6.50 is about a third of my weekly food budget! (when BF is not here....)
(sorry, never can get the hang of quoting!)0 -
