After lovingly printing off some coupons i trot off to adsa today to do my shop. Get to self serve and discover they have now stoped you from scanning your own coupons. I dont believe and they wouldnt accept my web coupons. Is anyone elses adsa like this???

  • Well, it may be a local thing - like people have been using too many in your store so they decided not too?

  • I was a self-scan virgin until today and I must say I was not impressed, I thought it would be quicker but it was not !!! I spent £12 and the helper said I could either have 10% of using vouchers, or use 3 of the same type, so I opted for the latter, used 3 quick read vouchers and had 25% off my bill.

There was I thinking the voucher machine would take as many vouchers as I had and it would be easier but it wasn't and the helper was hovering around all the time. On the positive side I got more discount and money off than by going to a normal till but on the negative side it seemed alot of time standing around.

Where the voucher slot was on the machine, it also stated 3 vouchers/10% voucher policy too.

we don't have them here but i used one in blackpool last week and also one in our local tesco. both had an assistant hovering. the assitant in tesco told me one voucher max and it has to be for under 10% of the cost. in blackpool asda though i used loads of coupons, around £5 on a £10 shop. it took ages because they were all 15p coupons and i thought the assistant would come over but she didn't seem to notice. i never thought of using web coupons, but then i never used a self scan before this week.

self scan rules must vary according to what the store manager thinks i suppose.

My Asda is the same, they said it was because of mis-use of coupons!!
