Areas of darker skin

Does anyone know of any product that will remove/fade darker patch of skin on face?
The area is basically between the neck/cheeks. I suspect it is an age spot type thing as it is in that area where you try and have the foundation faded out to blend with neck area(to avoid the foundation line)
I have tried Fade out and Boots protect and perfect, neither have done the job,as well as scrubbing at it with exfoliators (not good
)
Anyone had any good results with a product?

Bio oil is suggested for your problem
http://www.bio-oil.com/en/uneven_skin_tone/index.html
Haven't used it personally for your specific problem, but I used it last year on my decollete and over a period of a few months, it definitely evened out my skin tone. It's about £8 but you only need few drops and it lasts for ages.
Then of course there are the AHA glycolic peels which were discussed on this board last week, they are supposed to help too.0 -
devil dog, I may be completely wrong - but I had a patch like that on one side below my jaw line? I eventually realised it was where I sprayed my perfume! Basically the skin was much drier there than the rest of my face. Try some dermabrasion and lots of moisturisers. Mine has gone now and Id had it for years, thinking it was just ageing

Treat yourself to a professional facial.0 -
There are types of cosmetic surgery which can remove dark skin spots but they cost a fortune and there is absolutly no guarentee they wont just appear somewhere else.
Basicly a good SPF would be the best way to prevent them spreading further.
There are creams on the market which claim to reduce or get rid of the age spot type things. They have either not been proven or are dangerous, the BBC watchdog did a show on them not long ago, its been known to brun skin, cause acne and scarring all of which are irreverable and look far worse, whilst creams on the high street made little if any difference. They also cost a small fortune!
Have you seen a dermatologist? (a professional qualified one)0 -
Sounds like it is hormone related. I have it too, but on my upper lip... lucky me! I've heard retin A is the way forward. I'll ask my gyno next time I see him.0

There are several professional products out there which contain mulberry extract and lemon extract to lighten up pigmented skin. Novita Lightening Peel Serum is very good indeed. You just apply it on the affected area every night and it will gradually work its way down to the melanocytes and deal with the issue.
A good facial is the Swiss white one by Swissdermyl too. Again, contains the phyto extracts needed to sort it out.0 -
I have 'the butterfly ' of menopause. Sounds better than dark splodges!!
You can get retin-a on prescription but you HAVE to use a heavy sunscreen with it. I use factor 50 from No.7's face sun rangeNoli nothis permittere te terere

Thanks for all your suggestions-should keep me busy for a while

I have got some bio oil that I am currently using(got it for a scar but thought I might as well use it everywhere(well nearly)Incidently it is working great on the scar!
It doesn't feel particularly dry there but you never know.Lol I have never had a professional facial, maybe it is about time I did.
I do use an spf of 30, guess I should think about getting a stronger one.
I do remember getting the 'butterfly' type mask when pregnant but that disappeared over time, this looks like it is in for the long haul.
I guess if the bio oil doesn't get me the results I will have to look at the Novita Lightening Peel serum or go for the retin a-as you get it on prescription, what does it cost? I am assuming it will be a private precription?
Thanks again eveyone0 -
Try Beautician's Secret Dermawhite I am using it and it has really evened our my skin tone and I suffer quite badly from hyper pigmentationa and discolouration...."Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions.

can become great."

There are several pigmented lesions that can be lasered off.
My Nd:YAG used for removing tattoos can do a range of brown pigmented lesions as well. Generally only take a session or two.How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
Devil Dog, the Novita serum isn't a prescription product. You just need to find a salon which stocks it (I do!)0
