I was very apprehensive about watching this programme for two reasons, firstly I never want to see any form of abuse and secondly editing does wonders for media hype.

However, I am watching it now and my heart goes out to that poor dog and their owners - I am not sure that it was fair though to show the owners the footage. If i ever saw footage of poor treatment of my animals i would feel heart broken that i had failed them.

Don't think i can watch any more !

I said that, I don't think i'd want to see footage like that.

I have a little inside information on this, and the BBCs tactics in getting footage was far from professional (downright dirty to be precise)! It's amazing what lengths they go to to make good TV at the expense of others, and yet there will be gullible people who will watch this and believe everything they're seeing.

I completely accept your point about the media sometimes editing but you can't blame editing for scenes of cruelty.

And imo, the end justifies the means, I wouldn't give a toss how the footage was got if it showed bad practice and cruel treatment.

What gets me, is they're coming back saying it was an error with the insurance but that vet admitted they'd done it on purpose! And that trainee admitted that dog had been hurt at the vets and yet they came back and said it was because of it's skin condition.

They're just showing themselves to be a bunch of liars and I do hope people stop using them based on this.

There has been two TV programs about Vets and their staff this week, what a contrast. We had the Bionic Vet who along with his staff give their all to every animal, shedding tears when things go the wrong way. Then we have tonight’s shower, who don’t give a dam.
Well I know just which one I would opt for. I thank god that the good outweigh the bad.

    and the fiddling of bills

I couldn't watch the beginning of this but what I have seen is shocking and I can only be very grateful for having an excellent private vet.
