Paying off debts

Hiya

I have been reading with interest various comments on how to raise money which could then be used to pay off a few debts and noticed that E-Bay has been mentioned a few times.

Can anyone advise me what can be sold on E-Bay, What price would get charged and how do you get the money from it. I thought about selling my huge collection of vinyl records but two things put me off about that.

Firstly would there be any call for vinyl records and is selling on E-Bay relatively quick?

Thank you :)

I have thought about going back to doing bar work but unfortunately I was recently diagnosed with a long term condition so holding down a full time job and a 2nd job is not a possibility anymore

If anyone has any ideas on how to raise money they would be most appreciated

    Thank you in advance

Ebay can be used to sell just about anything which is not illegal or immoral (relatives, virginity etc.).

The prices that each thing commands depends very much on what it is, what it is worth, what you are asking for it, how many people are interested in it and how many other people are selling similar/the same. There are no hard and fast rules.

You don't seem very familiar with Ebay, so I would recommend going over to the site and reading the tutorials, and just having a look around: type in something you are interested in, see what it brings up and pretend you are want to buy it. How many people are selling it? In what condition? How much does it/they cost? What's the best deal you can get? How much is the postage and therefore the overall price? Can you see a picture? Does it seem to be of the actual item, or is it one just pulled off the internet? What does the listing say?

Also, the site works in terms of feedback (people rate positive/negative experiences shopping with you), so it often instills a sense of confidence in buyers if they see that you have bought things first off other vendors and have been given positive feedback to show you are reliable. I bought a few things off Ebay before starting to sell and it seems to have been a smart move.

    HTH.
