Index tracker funds?

Hi,
following my previous posting about my M&S stakeholder, I am now trying to look at index tracker funds. Can someone tell me how I will spot an index tracker fund as when I am searching stakeholder pensions, very few seem to be called this. Eg is a balanced managed or lifestyle option an index tracker? What else might it be called? Thanks. ::) ( I know, I know - I really do know nothing!)

Either "index tracking" or "passive", although I dare say some marketing people will have come up with some different phrases as well.
Lifestyle and balanced are not index trackers, they are methods of assigning your investments to different asset classes (e.g. equities/bonds/cash). Each of those asset classes will still be actively or passively managed, depending on the provider.0
