Ebay

Hi all,

I have been thinking about selling some stuff on ebay to raise some extra cash and was wondering how much people tend to earn per week and if there are any items that you find sell the best.

I'm not having much luck on ebay to be honest. I've managed to make over £90 this week on amazon selling textbooks and Nintendo DS games and I find it so much less hassle and stress than ebay selling.

My first ebay item was a dress I bought for £3 in a sale (it was a practice run), which sold for £3. I've now got a dress on there that is only a couple of month old, never worn, that I bought for around £15, and with only a day or so to go I've only received one bid of £0.99. :o I hope I can get a least £5 for it or I am giving up on ebay!

I'm afraid I can't offer much advice because I'm failing miserably myself but I look forward to reading the other replies in this thread so maybe I can figure out where I'm going wrong. Good luck with your ebay selling. :)

ebays not like it used to be. you earn less and less now and many left it when they decided you HAD to accept Paypal.

the cost of postage/wrapping/ebay fee/paypal fee next to your item that sold at a really low price makes it no longer worth it.

ebay can be a real money spinner but you need a bit of common sense. If you are selling your own things as a private seller and need to achieve a certain price then start at that price, the problems are mainly where sellers start at 99p because it is free and then are awfully upset when it sells at 99p.

Do your research, not everything has a value so if completed items suggest this item is unlikely to sell, don't list it.

I run both a full business account with new goods and second hand collectable items and also a small private account for my own tat I have lying around and can make enough to several very good holidays abroad every year.

There is a whole ebay board if you want specific advice (see my sig). If you just want motivation then check out this thread:
