Does anybody know of any shops in central London selling modern, bright prints, japenese imports would be a plus and so would a website
(i'm thinking more cute cotton prints for making 'things' rather than clothes!)

Walk up and down Bewick Street and there are a few stores there. Warning: they are not cheap! Infact it can be cheaper to make your own.... your looking at things which can easily be £35, £50, £70 a meter!! but the stuff they have is not stuff I have seen anywhere else and is pretty georgous.

ive yet to find any fabric shops in central london that arent upholstery based, or are reasonably priced
if you head out to Kingston or Reading there is fabricland, or chawlas in hounslow, but they are all quite a way out (but worth the trip)

Just a thought, if you are concerned that you cannot see the the fabric properly before you order on a website, you can often request samples from websites to allow you to see and feel the fabric you think you want. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

I hope you find somewhere but in the past 8 years of searching, all I have found is the best looking and better quality fabrics all do cost more and unfortunetly it is much more.
But then beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it really depends what your looking for.0
