Csa wanting partners details etc !!

Hi , please can anyone help me , to keep it simple i am the non resident parent (father) of my daughter who lives with my ex partner and i pay maintenance through the csa on the old system.
I have had a further request for info from them wanting me to send wageslips of my partners, bearing in mind she only works a 12 hour week on minimum wage, this came as a result of my ex telling them my new partner works but i did not tell the csa she works as i didnt see why my new partner should be taken into account to work out maintenance for a child i had to someone else , also surely with her earning so little would they use it anyway ???

PS i am employed and have a mortgage ( repayment ) and all the usual bills for a household which they are aware of , figures etc.
advice please , thanks.

They want to assess how much of the household bills both you and your partner should be paying.

If she earns less than you then it's well worth advising the CSA of her income as this means she will pay less proportionally of the household bills and you will therefore pay more.

This means that more of your income will be deemed as tied up in the household and should mean you pay less CSA.

Its very intrusive, and I also have had experience of this, but if you do not supplythe details, they will give you a penalty assessment and you will end up paying more - it sucks but thats how they work

i had the csa and the dwp asking for my partners bank and income details, i told them both where to get off, they have no legal right to access your partners details whatsoever, imo they are just being nosey , it has nothing to do with them at all

I'm afraid it does and can affect the amount you pay, but it does not impact on the amount they assess you at - they are two separate things. They assess you on your income only, and then they determine if you can afford to pay it, so they then calculate a protected income which includes your partner's income details. If all allowances taken off, still leaves you with the full amount that they assessed you at, you pay in full, if however, there is a shortfall, then you pay the difference so you get a reduction. If you refuse to give the details, you pay the full amount regardless.

    Really??

This is so wrong, why should your current partner pay for your's and sombody else's child?

No wonder the CSA is a joke!

They aren't though. But they do want the NRP to support their child and ensure that they have enough to live on now, hence the protected income.
