Frederickson Int - what letter next?

My OH has Frederickson Int chasing a debt he wasn't aware he had.
We requested a CCA and they responded saying they were going to contact their client and the account was on hold for now.
2 months later we have finally received a letter enclosing about 12 pages of print outs of statements.
Now what do we do now? Am I right in thinking they can't chase this debt when they have just provided print outs of statements and no signed agreement?
ps the original debt was with Capital one and the last transactions on it were in Sept 2005.

You should have sent the prove it letter first, rather than diving in with a CCA request. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=11570893&postcount=2 But its pointless to send this letter now. Unless you actually dispute that you owe this money. I.e. They are chasing the wrong person.
A CCA request is asking to see the agreement to check if it can be used in court, not to see if you do actually owe the money they are asking.
Are you in Scotland? If so the 5 year statute barred date would be close, but in England it is 6 years. If not then in what condition is your credit file? I ask as failing to pay a debt just because a CCA is missing does not mean the money is not owed, and as such they will trash your file for upto 6 years. CCA requests are recommended to those seeking either F&F offers, or other on DMPs or nearing insolvency, because of the affect it has to a credit file if you do not pay money owed.

Simply put, if you know this is an old debt you forgot about, and value your credit file, then you need to pay it off.
If in Scotland, you could potentially blag it until the 5 years of no payment/written acknowledgement is up.
if your credit file is already shot to pieces, then consider following the CCA thread posted above.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0
