My son is interested in making his own music mixes and is looking for DJ deckes. Does anyone know where these can be bought at a reasonable price either new or second hand?
Thanks

More info on where you are will get more responses with regards shops local to you......
As for 2nd hand, local papers always seem to have these things in the small ads, but make sure you get a demonstration before buying. The mixer should have clean pots (no crackling or static when you twist the knobs, move the fader). Decks themselves should be flat, as these can warp, and make sure that the speed settings are working.
Oh.....and get him some headphones so that you don't have to listen to it0 -

I'm not from around there, but a few users on this board are, so there's bound to be some advice along soon.
Have you tried Freecycle? Might be worth posting a want ad on there.0 -
Buy him a set of cd "decks" so he's not spending a fortune on vinyl. No doubt he'll already be aware of sources for downloading the latest tunes as mp3's and burning them to disc. If you try some of the hire shops they sometimes sell off ex hire stock cheap (bought mine from Eclipse on belfast for £150)0
