Changing/Adding Second Name To Child Benifit - Is It Possible?

Hi,
I sent in an application for a free grant, and the grant has now closed and are not accepting new applications. When filling out for the grant, I put down my son's first name, and not his middle name, for which is registered on the Child Benefit Letter for which they needed to process the grant, so they declined it.
I just recently found out that seen as I posted in the application before the grant closed, that my applications is still active only if I send in a new child benefit letter stating my sons FIRST name, not his middle one.
The question is, is it possible, over the phone to the CSA, to have them change or add the first name of the child, and resend the Child Benefit letter to me? Would they get fussy over it, and cause problems for not adding the Childs first name to the claim in the first place?
Please advice! I just wanted to know now so I wouldn't keep my hopes high for monday to come around to call them.
Regards.

I'm sure they would get a wee bit funny with you, as the CSA have nothing to with child benefit dept. The question is, is it possible, over the phone to the CSA, to have them change or add the first name of the child, and resend the Child Benefit letter to me? O, I see. Sorry. I just couldn't find another forum to post in, this seemed like the most relevent one. Would the HMRC be able to help me out regarding the query I have? Would they make a big fuss of it, or just quickly change it?0 -

I would think that in order to change or amend the name on the child benefit, they will first need to see some documentation of the name? Why doesn't his original paperwork have his complete name on it? Did you not need to send in a birth certificate or similar to get registered for child benefit in the first place? I cannot see them just 'changing a name quickly' though - can you not get the application for the grant amended - I would think that would be alot easier!0

Hmm, I'll give both parties a try tommorow. I'll first as HMRC if they already have his first name down, and if they could resend, if not, then I'll have to retry with the grant and see if they could ammend it but I doubt it as they clearly stated this to me.
Thanks for the advise.0 -
Thumbs up. I got the name added, and they will send out the new letter. It was already on there, but odly enough, it was only the first 3 letters. So I corrected it and they will send it out.
Thanks for the help.0
