Hi
Not got a massive problem like some people on here but here it goes...
I have a phone bill due and i have not paid it yet i have now been forwaded to a debt company to pay off this bil and when i do pay the money it will go to o2 which is who i ow it to i already told them i could not pay it soon because of money problems but now they put me in this mess by taken it to this company..
They need the money by tuesday and i have spent all my money skint atm and dont get anymore till the end of this month/start of next if i dont pay it i could be taken to court or action may be taken dont know how when the bill has only been due a just over a month nothing like i cant pay off in the future but anyway thats not how it works:eek:
I dont know what to do i have asked about a loan but people have said i cant take a loan out because banks only pay 1000 and above and over and others have said dont do payday loans because they send you into alot of problems in the future.
Is there anything i can do i need the money asap but cant think of what?
Btw if your wondering how much the bill is its 102 pound.

If its a dca they are being totally unreasonable. Dont worry about tuesday, they are so full of empty threats its not funny.
Try and avoid speaking on the phone. If they ring dont confirm your id, tell them you will only communicate by snail mail.
Write to them and tell them what and how much you will pay them. You make the rules.
They(phone provider) can however default you so that may be something to remember as it would be a shame to ruin your credit history for £100.
They need to give you 14 days if they are going to default you to give you a chance to fix it.0 -
Hi
Thanks for your reply
Whats DCA? and i have phoned up o2 and they said the reason its with this company now because its been over a month that i have had to pay this bill and they gave me a number to ring about the company to sort it out so i rang it the person i spoke to on the phone was helpful and he said there is a payment due tuesday i said about money problems etc but they said its not up to them they have been sent it by o2 so there is nothing they can do..
I know the treats about court are empty maybe so but it says in bold on the letter about action being taken i have tryed every thing i can do to reason with them about paying it off in future but it does not seem to be working i know people in the past who have had phone bills go up to 300 plus over months etc.0 -
It'll be a long way from court infact I doubt it would ever.
A dca is a debt collector.
Dca's have a habit of telling people they must pay silly amounts of money before an unreasonable date which scares the death out of people(which it has clearly done here).
Sounds like its probably just with the in house collections if its only been a month.
Even still you cant pay what you dont have, simple as.
Debt collectors wont like it if you say you dont have it but thats just tough.
If it was me i'd pay something even if its only a few pounds and let them like it or lump it.0 -
You wont reason with a DCA. More chance of flying.0

Thanks for the reply.
I think the court thing was to scare me but on the letter it says in bold if not paid by tuesday etc but who knows..
o2 explained that they had tryed the to take the bill twice but there was no money etc so the direct debit was canceled and they then asked for a post bill its been well it will be 2 months soon so thats maybe why they have done this to the debt people but i mean come on its not like they need it asap i can pay it off in the furture
Its still out of order i could of paid it in due time now i have this to stress about all week.
Dont have a clue how i will pay this Tuesday maybe like you said i could pay a bit of it but thats going to be hard as i have no money yet.0 -
Maybe try and pay 1 month asap. Usually you have to be 3 months in arrears before you can be defaulted. Then work at paying £10 extra a week or something till you are up to date. 02 might reconnect you if its only 1 months arrears.0

Hi WBA, Always always deal with these companies by letter!! Apart from giving you a record, it's also a good way of buying a bit of time!!;) When I used to get letters off DCA's I used to try and time it so letters got there Thursday or Friday, so that I wouldn't get a reply till half way through the next week - or sometimes later!! So if you write and offer them something (make it fairly low) they'll reply probably refusing your offer. You can then write back, offering a bit more, they might accept, but if not, write back and explain you cannot afford more. If your really lucky this could stretch out for 4/5 weeks!! And they will see your not ignoring the situation, and you might be in a position to pay it off by then!! Its worth a go, and I know it always worked a treat for me;) Good luck!0
