Sounds like you've done great with all the paperwork. Keep us informed about how things progress with CCCS...
Many of the great people who give advice on here will have felt the frustation and confusion you have and now you're amongst the ranks of those finding their way out!0 -

Thanks Foundational.
The whole DMP thing is confusing at first... and still might be as I may be unaware of things until they happen (if that makes sense).
As I say, the deed is done, I've sent the filled in and signed bits to the CCCS and informed my three creditors of the situation... I suppose the ball is now in the creditors court.
I feel a lot less worried about the whole thing for now.0 -
just wanted to say good luck and well done on facing the problem and being so pro-active!

Good luck with the DMP.
Also one more thing, have you ever used your union?

Update on the situation
since the 'lightbulb' went
on in my head on 16th July 2010.
My DMP starts on 1st Sept 2010.
I have had a letter from one of my creditors
(American Express) advising they are stopping
all interest charges due to financial difficulty.
So far I have heard nothing from my other two
creditors (no letters, no phone calls).
I cannot overstate how much I appreciate the
help and support I have received from people
on this website and the staff at the cccs.0 -
thats good news, lets hope others will contact you soon. :T0

Update on the DMP....
the first payment for the DMP goes out of my bank account on 1 Sept 2010.
Further to the letters I received from american express (as detailed above) I have heard nothing from the other two banks.. no letters, no phone calls...nothing.
So far, so good...
again I can't overstate how much the people on this forum and
the staff at the CCCS have made what was at first, for me,
a panic situation into a calm, controlled and manageable situation.
Thank you.0 -
Your welcome...As egg is the biggest debt you might want to give them a prod...a letter, asking again if they can freeze interest. Many creditors will ignore letters if you're currently up to date with payments they'll respond when you're late with repayments as they will be getting scared and getting something is much better than getting nothing.
If you don't mind me asking...You had a £303 surplus after essential living expenses. How much is the DMP payment?:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Have you thought about moving in with your partner for a while and renting your place out? You would save on rent and utilities which would soon eat into that debt!MFW 2011 challenge - Aim: Overpay £414.26 a month/£5,000 a year. Hope you're feeling a little calmer about the situation now. Is there any possibility you might be able to get a second job, perhaps Waiting at table in a local cafe or pub something like that where you can put in a few hours now and then to help speed up your debt repayment?
How are you doing on cutting down or cutting out the cigarettes? This could make a difference to your grocery bill.0
