Hi,

I've just had my csa assesment re-calculated as my wife and myself have just had a baby.

I expected the amount to go down but I didn't expect it to be £0.00!

I have all the calcs from the CSA but I can't work it out (I'm on the old system). Basically after taking my income and taking off my exempt income the amount left is

"Income included in the assessment = £11.33"
"Maintenance assessment before considering protected income £0.00"

Then they work out my protected income etc.... "Amount Due = £0.00"

I've read the booklet they send but I can't work it out. Why isn't my assessment £11.33 per week?

I don't want to find months down the line they messed up and they back-date any payments.

Also, PWC on benefits. Will she see a difference in payments?

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Mikee

This is part of the problem for people like us on old rules. With new rules its far simpler to work things out!
When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.

Kelloggs is expert on old rules, sure if you PM her your assessment details, she'll have a look and see if there are any errors, she's a true gem, and probably the only person in the world who understands CS1!

Because they then halve this amount left over, and if it is less than the minimum amount, then the amount is nil.

Out of curiosity what is the minimum amount? (We're under old rules)
