New mortgage - any ideas?

I have attempted to have a good look through this board, however, it is proving a little difficult, as I have a 16 week old baby who seems determined that I learn nothing new about mortgages! I am aware that no-one want to make specific recommendations about something as big as a mortgage...but could anyone point me in the right direction for best rates...really would be ever so grateful as it's really hard to find loads of time at the moment...

In a very basic nutshell, am looking for the best deal is for a mortgage of 210,000 on a property of 295,950. I think we want to fix for 2 years initially……

Thanks alot. Am honestly not being lazy, just harrassed!!

I know where you are coming from

I remember when my daughter arrived - everything changed - and she needed all the attention. I wouldn't change a thing or have it any other way!

Do you have just the one child?
Do you have any other debts in the background?
    Is this your first property?
    What are your two incomes?

Let's see what rates you could be looking at

  • Hi HerbieSJP,

I wouldn't change having my son either - but no-one can ever tell you how much hard work it is - it's far easier going to work, but nowhere near as rewarding eh?!

Yes we just have one child.

No neither of us have any outstanding debts, oh except for my OH's car loan (personal loan not finance) which is paid off next year.

No not our first property...owned a flat bought for £68,000 sold for £140,000. In rented accommodation just currently, but have found somwhere we want for £295,000.

OH earns approx. £40k and pre maternity I was on approx. £35k...I will return to work, but am unsure as to when yet...to be honest we will not necessarily need me to go back as a matter of urgency, as I had a fairly substantial (unexpected!) inheritance last year...but we cannot use that immediately as equity, as it is tied up for the time being...complicated!

    Thanks
