Dove shampoo and conditioner

My friend uses this and I was thinking of trying it as my doctor said to use it for my sensitive scalp. Has anyone used this and rate it?

Hi, I've used these products before. I didn't rate them very highly as they left my hair very lank and greasy looking even after 10-15 minutes of rinsing.

If you have a sensitive scalp then maybe try a 'natural' shampoo and conditioner. They are pricey and don't lather as much but they are so much kinder to the scalp. SLS is a known irritant.

I use Organix promegranate and green tea which is divine. I do also use TIGI products (they do contain small amounts of SLS) but I find that I don't react to these.

I personally don't buy anything made by Unilever, but that's just me! :D

Back in January, I stopped buying shampoo/bathproducts containing SLS and SLeS. I have dry skin and my husband has ezcema on his legs. I tried a paraben free/SLS free (and not tested on animals) shampoo base from a company called Naturallythinking - it's an unscented, uncoloured base, so you can add your fragrance if you wish. I liked it very much and husband is now a convert. My parents also wanted to go paraben free/SLS free so I gave them a half bottle of shampoo base to try - my Dad has dermatitis on his scalp and it's so itchy and flaky, he's been trying various creams for years to ease it. He was delighted to show me his now healthy looking scalp, (we're a close family!!) recently as a few weeks of using this shampoo had almost made the dermatitis vanish completely. My guess is that so many people are allergic (or sensitive) to the harsh detergent that is SLS/SLeS, that they spend a fortune on conditioners and oils etc trying to offset the damage their shampoo has been causing.....

I'd also like to say getting a water-softener installed has also helped both our skins (we live in a very hard water area) and our Doctor said it will make a difference to ezcema/dermatitis.

I agree that Dove makes hair greasy, I didn't like them!

Have you tried the Simple range? They do haircare aswell as skincare and have no perfumes etc

Hi, thanks for your replies. I currently use Simple shampoo and conditioner and have always found it very good (even over salon brands) but just recently my hair has not been looking the same so I was thinking of trying something else. I am going through the menopause so it could be that affecting my hair condition rather than the products I am using.
