Do I have a problem

I have an agreement with Barclaycard and pay £71 a month to them. I have set up a standing order to pay them using the faster payment method with Santander. I pay other accounts to them using this and they go through no problem. I have found out that Santander have used the normal standing order method to pay this meaning my payment has been late. I have contacted Barclaycard who said that they would put a comment on my account to show that i am concerned. Will this jepordise my agreement? I have not heard from Barclaycard yet but trying to get hold of an english speaking person is proving to be impossible.

You say you use the faster payment method, is this free of charge? If not, can you arrange standing orders to go out earlier so you do not have to pay a fee. BACS is like £15-25 a transaction.

You should be okay, as you have contacted them to tell them the bank has made an error not you.

  • I pay my Barclaycard by direct debit, and I can pay it weekly. However make you you check your statements carefully, as a few of my payments have left my bank account, but never reached my Barclaycard account, and still havent, they refunded charge when I proved I'd paid but its still not been credited to my account, so I've lost the money!
  • Dark Convict. Yes it is free. The reason I did it this way is that I get paid on the same day as the payment is due. The bank says the transaction takes about a couple of hours. I just hope they dont cancel the payment schedule because of this.
