A rolling boil is really pretty scary to watch
Lots of frothing bubbles that you don't want to touch :eek: I always make huge quantities of jam so I'm always caught out by how high the jam climbs up the pan sides. If yours isn't rising fairly dramatically then you probaly haven't got it boiling enough.
It's great fun in our house when the jam's on :rotfl: me shrieking to kids - 'don't anyone come anywhere near the cooker because I'm boiling jam and it's getting out of the pan:eek: '0 -
And it's also quite difficult to achieve on a modern domestic hob, mine is so weedy I can only just get it going hard enough. You need to use a very big pan and the largest hob ring turned up to the top notch. (Oh, for a Rangemaster...)Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0
