OK, is there such a thing as a genuine, profitable dropshipping program. Ive been searching, on and off, for a while now and they only one I have found that is worth while is selling 'Adult Products', this market is saturated already surely.
Other than that I can only seem to find the likes of Select and DVD Dropshipper......
Anybody else had any sucess?!

I'd put a tin hat on and prepare to be spammed by everyone trying to flog over priced items via a wholesaler.
Personally I have never found a reliable dropshipper that can undercut the retail prices on places like ebay. The problem always is that if you can find it then so can everyone else and too much competition just drives the prices down.
I've always been more successful with small lines of goods that I buy and store, that way I control my shipping and stock quality.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks Soolin, the whole idea of Dropshipping does sound good but as you say too hard to beat any prices on eBay....... well, with the exception of Select who charge an annual fee and never have any stock!0

I've run a couple of dropshipping businesses in the past and I do agree that you often won't find things cheaper than on ebay but I don't think that's the point.
If you're really good at promotion, build a great website, offer excellent customer service and fair prices (fair, not rock bottom cheap!) then you will do well.
After all, people out there are willing to pay that bit extra for all those things it's been proven time and time again.
The trick with the dropshipping products is to avoid all the big companies out there and see if you can personally contact smaller, niche companies and sell on their behalf. It'll make you that much more unique and profitable.
Plus the other problem with the big dropshipping companies is that as a small/startup dropshipper you are often bottom of the rung in importance - if a big guy wants 1000's of a product you've sold a couple of then you're out of luck, and so are your customers.
Overall I'd say it is a valid way of running an online business for a little bit of side money provided you take the above into account.
Good luck!0 -
I work for a dropshipper (I won't say which one) and they sell phone & game accessories.
They haven't been going very long, only a matter of months and they are fast becoming VERY successful.
Their profits are minimal but their orders are growing fast every day. Some of the products are from UK suppliers, some from Hong Kong.
They may be the suppliers but they have plenty of repeat custom so their customers are doing well for themselves.0
