They come in a dvd style case that is fully shrinked wrapped and sealed. The cards inside are like a scratch card and you remove the silver strip to input the code. From my old ones i didn't recall a use by limit. I bought mines in January and used it in March of this year no problem. So i dont think it would be a problem keeping them, in fact i think i might buy this myself.
