    Not sure if it happens now but when we left our council house 14 years ago we were told that the 4 weeks notice period would have no HB entitlement as we were considered to not need it.

    Not sure if it happens now but when we left our council house 14 years ago we were told that the 4 weeks notice period would have no HB entitlement as we were considered to not need it.

    I worked in HB at that time and unless your financial circumstances had changed you would still have been entitled.

    You would have been entitled then, sounds like you were given duff information by someone. :mad: that is if you were still living in the council house & had no other property.

    Apologies for misinterpreting the original post:o No idea where I got overpayment from.

    Thanks for that update from NDL fatbelly - although waht I said was loosely correct. It isnt barred, and can be recovered, albeit NOT through the courts and only from future benfits.

    Anyway, sorry again for completely confusing the issue.
    No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.
