I am on my third or fourth Philips Sonicare and I think they are great (my dentist agrees).

I would certainly recommend Boots as they do not quibble if you have to seek a replacement.

Like most rechargeable devices, the batteries don't last forever. In fact I have only ever bought 2 sonicares. They give a 2 year gaurantee and I have found that if you are going to get a problem, it is often after around 18 months.

On each occasion, I returned the item to my local boots shop and they replaced with the nearest equivalent model, complete with a new receipt (and another 2 year guarantee).

If you go for this make, I read somewhere that it is better not to store it in the charger. Since doing this, it does seem to last longer before needing a charge.
