I've sat through all the presentations and stuff for this, although it was early 90's so the website wasn't involved then.
You have access to the range of goods and are responsible for selling them to people. You get commission based on sales. When I started, I would have had to go round homes and business trying to get customers to buy the goods - bit like an Avon round. I'm assuming you would responsible for advertising your affilited web URL to get people to buy from "your shop".
You can make more money if you sign people up to work under you. You get a cut of their commission and so on back up the chain. It's similar to a pyramid scheme, but is called Multi-Level Marketing.
What you need to decide is if you wish to spend time trying to persuade people to buy from you, and to sign more people up to do the same.
Personally I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole as I had no interest in it once I'd seen the presentations, and got cheesed off with the regional bloke giving us the hard sell to sign up.Here I go again on my own....0 -
The site policy on this kind of selling is
Pyramid schemes, lottery based pyramid schemes, Ipod bidding schemes etc
The legality of these schemes is questionable, yet the ethics isn't. These schemes fly in the face of MoneySaving and whether illegal or not I don't want them on the site. Any scheme which offers a prize/reward/cash for you queuing up and referring other people is not permitted on this site and will be deleted. Repeated posters will have their posting priviledges removed.
I fully support this policy and think it's an abuse of trust to persuade friends, relatives and workmates to pay over the odds for overhyped, overpriced, stuff simply for your own gain.
