Stuffing envolopes?

Hi there i'm new to this board but me and my best friend are both trying to save up for a house deposit, i'm a student and mum of one and work one day a week and she works full time. We were trying to find ways of making a bit of extra income for the savings pot and someone mentioned stuffing envolopes.
I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of this and could provide information on what sort of money it provides? We both have the same day off so we are quite happy to while away the hours chatting and making a bit of extra cash.
Many thanks, squif33
