help needed please

Hello my partner is being chased for a debt by Fredrickson International. She is a victim of ID Fraud. A tenant at our old address signed up to JD Williams Catologue and ordered online goods in her name six months after we moved out. She has reported this to the police and recieved a crime reference number. This has been forwarded to the debt company and JD Williams via a letter. She has also sent them the 'template prove it letter'.

She has also spoken to JD williams via the phone and they have the incorrect date of birth and would supply any further details. They have also sent her a invoice of the goods and that were ordered in december 2009. (we had moved out the previous june).

Numerous letters keep arriving threatening court action with the latest coming from Bryan Carter Solicitors acting on behalf of JD Williams.

She is starting to feel extremely stressed and harrassed by these people for a debt that clearly isn't hers. Please can anyone advise on what she can do to get rid of these people hassling her as she has already spent quite a bit of money with experian, letters and phone calls to no avail.

I think she probably needs to complain to the OFT about this. They clearly don't want to listen to reason at all.
I would send them one further letter to set out all that has happened and that they have been unable to prove the debt is hers and complaining about their continued harrasment. I would then say you are sending a copy of the letter to the OFT as a formal complaint.

Bryan Carter are basically fredricksons by the way. Different hat same people.

The same thing is happening to me Fredrickson are so rude and I receive texts and calls all day everyday and its starting to get me down too. Got a call today from Bryan Carter solicitors saying that I had to make a payment there and then,they just weren't interested in anything I had to say. I have provided them with copies of my tenancy agreement as proof of when I left property they are still saying that legal proceedings are about to start.

Have you sent the telephone harrasment letter? Harassment by Telephone
If not I would do that. If they still don't stop the calls then there is a follow up letter Harassment by Telephone - Follow Up

Make sure that you only communicate with Fredrickson in writing, sent by recorded delivery, keeping a copy for yourself. Then they have no comeback of 'not receiving' correspondence. If you can, try recording your phone calls as evidence of them not playing by the rules.
