Hello
I am currently number crunching away on my SOA & was wondering which of the advice agencies do people recommend & why: CAB, Payplan, CCCS, National Debtline, Advice UK.
I am employed as a Civil Servant (civilian) in the MOD so their could be complications when i start the ball rolling!.
My intial intention was to ring my Trade Union debt helpline first & my union diary states that "FCL have been appointed as debt management consultants". However, when i rang the number the pre-recorded number stated i was through to Payplan?
I was also thinking that a face to face approach might be best ,as i do stammer & sometimes find telephoning dificult. Am i right in thinking that CAB are the only agency that do this.
Finally are Advice UK & CAB the same.
Thanks

Id go for Payplan, they are the old FCL. The best. CCCS are good but like CAB in demand and hard to speak too.

Depends where you liveAll comments and advice given is my own opinion and does not represent the views or advice of any debt advice organisation.

The important thing to remember is both CCCS and Payplan offer a free service. Other firms with organise a DMP for you and then take a chunk in fees.
With the two mentioned, every penny goes towards your debt.
Good luck with them. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....
LB moment - March 2006. DFD - 1 June 2012!!! DEBT FREE!
