Last month we have to go to Italy to see a close relation who is very sick. This is the first time in our life that we pay everything including b&b, with cash instead of plastic card when abroad:j DH has been very good and we have resisted the temptation of buying stuff due to our limited cash. On our last day there, we have just enough (our last few euros) for cup of coffee and sandwiches at lunch time, before we take our evening flight back to UK. We brought our plastic cards, for emergency use only.
So goodbye to plastic and welcome hard cash :T

Very well done!!:T I haven't had a cc for about 16 years and don't want one, despite junk mail, and "offers" if I ever phone the bank! If I cannot pay for it with money I don't get it! Its taken years of hard slog to get where we are now (oh's ex wifes debts:mad:) I have a debit card with od facility, so that'll do me;)0

I think that's a great achievement and hopefully it will encourage you to carry on spending wisely without using plastic. It could have been so tempting to spend more on your credit card while you were away, so well done. :T:T

I remember going Christmas shopping a couple of years ago and handing my debit card over in a shop... the shop assistant was amazed and said I was the first person she'd seen that day who was using a debit rather than credit card. I waslked out of the shop with a very smug grin on my face!
Well done, and keep up the good work!Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0
