Is there room for another DFW??

Hi, this is my first post. I have been lurking for several months now and I have been inspired by all the effort and advise all of you have been giving. I eventually had my LBM in July. DH and I owe approx £42000 on credit cards:( and in July plucked up the courrage to call CCCS. Whilst they were friendly and gave great advise they could not help us with a DMP as our disposable income worked out at £8 per month!!. I have contacted all my crediters and offered token payments of £1 per month as advised by CCCS. All but two (MBNA & HSBC) have accepted this offer for a 6 month period when it will be reviewed. But I am thinking of going it alone as I feel we can afford to pay some more towards these debts. CCCS allowed us in our buget £320 per moth for shopping and we never spend anything like this, so are we better to save up some of the 'spare' money we will have and then offering this to one of the smaller debts to try to clear this or is this seen as not treating all the crediters equally?

Hi
There is a all room for one more.
As saubryn said a statement of affairs will help us help you.
Some of us are radical ( I wonder who they could be referring to me by any chance :rotfl: )but you not under any obligation to do anything we suggest.
Most things that will be suggested is to cut back on sky, phone both mobile and landline, food, clothes shopping etc.
But do post and some very nice people will be along to help you soon.
Yours
CalleyHope for everything and expect nothing!!!

Have a look at this thread for a guide.
Regarding saving up extra money this is definately a route you should consider. However offer them a reduced amount as a full and final settlement figure, maybe only 70% of what you owe, as alot of companies will accept this and write the rest off.0 -
