im not up to proffesional standard obviously, but i do have some good images, im wondering if any one has sold their photography to stock images, getty , magazines etc and how they went about it and the pay they recieved

    Site like Dreamstime, Istockphoto and big stock photo are good. You need to get your quality of pics approved first... Something I've not managed yet :(!

    Not sure the rewards are that great though unless you've got a really fab subject of pics that people are wanting.

    Flickr is a photographic community, and they now offer a 'do you want to license this photo' option. THis means that if anyone finds the sort of photo they want in your collection ,they can go to Getty images who will handle the whole theing. The advantage of this is twofold - on searches, Flickr images come up easily, and also, you don't have to have been previously accepted by Getty. I can't guarantee a fast or big take-up, but it's a worth doing 'just-in-case'.

    With so many photographers out there now, not many people make much money, but any income helps pay for the hobby :)

    thanks, ive been on flickr for years, but have yet to see positive feedback from people who license their images to getty, ie pennies for pay, been able to accesss all your photos, but thanks for your advice anyway
