Hi i thought i had better let you all know that i have been approached recently by two guys from a firm [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] called wilson and vernalls.
They came to my door with the promise of getting my council tax reduced on a no win no fee basis. They were professional looking guys who seem to know what they were talking about. So i invited them in. They passed me all sorts of infomation that i briefly looked at before they took the info off me.
To cut a long story short they told me that if my case was successful that they would take 30% of any refund i would recieve. After hearing that i showed them the door very quickly. I later found out that my neighbours in town had been approaced by people from the same company and some of them have signed with them. I live in Northwich, Cheshire.
I also found out that if i had gone with them that the work would have been conducted by the VOA anyway because they control the council tax list by law, and if you contact them directly they will look into your band for you and it does'nt cost you anything!
My advice is to [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] do it yourself, i did and couldnt be happier.:)

They have also started in the Middlewich area too. And another company called A+G Consultancy Ltd are in Macclesfield according to a friend of mine.0

I can confirm that they are operating in Macclesfield. By the way, it's a 35% fee on successful action, not 30% !!!0

It is true you can ask for your property to be reviewed for rebanding but you can and should arrange this yourself.
One downside is that they don't always reband in your favour. It is possible for the banding to get worse and for your tax bill to increase.I am a mortgage broker.
