Evening all,
this week I have been on jollidays from work and have been practising a more healthy diet . .have dieted before but, usually involved leaving things out of the diet, rather than introducing them IYSWIM !
I am finding that the intro of more fruit and veg has had an adverse effect on my insides . . !!
Is is because I'm not used to this much and will it improve with perseverance ?

Its hard to say, if you are going from zero fruit to 5-10 portions a day and find yourself passing more stools then normal or looser stools then normal then its likely your body is just adjusting.
But if your in any pain or feeling sick or have a raised temperature or your stools are a dark black colour then go see your doctor as it could be one of many things and its important to get help before it gets worse.
Also, make sure your not cutting out all your 'carbs' (Wholegrain pasta, brown rice, potatos, multigrain bread) as this will make things worse- you will get very lose stools doing that!0 -
surely having more fibre , fruit and veg can only be better for you, esp if your cutting your meat content down0

a change to your diet will take some time for your digestive system to adjust too
try to focus on veg with a little fruit as some fruits can be a acidic or have moderately high sugar
aim for 3-5 portions of veg and 1-2 of fruit0 -
According to me if we don't like fruits to take than there is a option of protein powder is there......
Um, no.
Protein powder- protein anything is definitely not a substitution for fruit.
Protein is a substitute for things like meat, eggs, fish, soya, dairy and only if we are struggling to get the required amount per day. Too much protein is not a good thing. You cannot substitute protein powder for fruit, this is like trying to substitute water for cheese. Two totally different types of food.
You really can't substitute fruit and vegetables for anything, you could try through various vitamin pills but you'd be missing out on many of the nutrients which are not able to be obtained by a pill. And many of them are within the fibers of the fruit and vegetables which are lost through liquidising (ie smoothies or juices) so deciding to liquidise all your fruit and vegetables is also not a good idea.
You need a minimum of 5 portions. Advisably 3 should come from vegetables, 2 should come from fruit. They key to choosing the right ones is that they should each be different colours. (And btw, potato's do not count as a vegetable in this respect).0
