Be stupid enough to buy lots of stuff from them, preferably on a store card, don't pay it off each month, rack up lots of interest, and generally be the kind of customer that makes them lots of lovely money.
  • Actually the above comment isn't true. I was one of the lucky ones and managed to get one of the first slots on Weds @ 7pm and I really don't spend that much with them online at all. In-fact this year I think I've only spend about £25 on-line buying a jumper. I've been told to be in with a change of getting a VIP slot you have to have send offers ticked in your account and not opt out of receiving the Next Catalogues. It worked for me!! :j

Not true-I probably buy a couple of things every three months, pay off in full and always get a VIP slot-goodness knows how they allocate, but its not to those with the most debt!:j

    The complete opposite actually.

I spend about £3k a year with them (for my friends abroad, I don't love Next that much myself:rotfl:) and I never ever got VIP invitation from them.

They probably know that I am (well, my friends) rich/stupid enough to shop in full price so they don't need want us to shop in sales and then don't need anything until next sales.

I hardly spend a bean with them although I get the brochures. I got a slot this time for the first time.

it's pot luck. I've been a next customer for years now, sometimes I've been invited to take a slot, other times I haven't. No luck this time though as didn't get my invite, so will have to slum it in the crowded shop with everyone else ;)

the below does not defo get you a slot but it is the things they look at it...

    1) have a directory
    2) have ordered online
    3) have at least £300 available in account before the sale
    4) have shopped withing the last three months before the sale
    5) possible have the card for in store that goes with the directory account

Thats me and I have had 9 out of the last 10 VIP Slots - I buy nearly all of my clothes there. You cannot expect a VIP slot if you get one its a bonus if not go to the store. I will still go tomorrow.

I got one this time and found lots of bargains!! :)

    I do get the directory.

I have got the notify me of sales box ticked.

    But.....

I have only ordered online once on-line in the last 18mths (only place I could find school uniform in the right size mid year).

    I don't have a Next Card.

I used to shop there a lot, but although the clothes are nice and good quality I think they are overpriced (seem to have gone up alot in the last few years) and can't justify the cost unless they are in the sale.
